Big Picture 2025 Commercial Real Estate Outlook: Weathering the storm

The Federal Reserve's pivot to monetary easing will not bring immediate relief to the US commercial real estate market as key measures of asset quality continue to deteriorate. Intermediate- and longer-term rates declined ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee's Sept. 18 decision to cut rates by 50 basis points, reaching their lowest point since May 2023, but they have since climbed higher.
