Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act

Credit cards are a popular and widely used payment and credit product that have been covered by the Truth in Lending Act since its inception. In 2009, the CARD Act amended the Truth in Lending Act to impose additional and extensive new regulatory requirements on credit cards.

The CARD Act’s provisions are reflected in Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act).
