Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)

To provide emergency assistance and health care response for individuals, families, and businesses affected by the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (the CARES Act) was signed into law on March 27, 2020. This legislation provides emergency relief for U.S. individuals and businesses that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19—with banks serving as the delivery mechanism for much of that relief.
