Next Monday Livestream: ABA’s Rob Nichols, Fed’s Michelle Bowman, Acting Comptroller Michael Hsu to Address Community Bankers at ABA Conference

WASHINGTON —

ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols, Federal Reserve Governor Michelle Bowman and Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael Hsu will address community bankers from across the country at the American Bankers Association’s Conference for Community Bankers next week in San Antonio, Texas.

ABA will livestream the conference’s opening general session next Monday, Feb. 12 beginning at 9 a.m. ET. That session will feature Nichols outlining key ABA priorities and community banking issues, followed by Fed Governor Bowman delivering opening remarks before sitting down for a conversation with ABA Chair Julieann Thurlow. Bowman and Thurlow will discuss the economic outlook as well as some of the policy issues facing the banking sector, especially the nation's community banks. Acting Comptroller Hsu will follow, delivering remarks before joining Nichols to discuss current banking policy issues and the OCC’s 2024 top priorities.

Monday, February 12*

9:00 a.m. – 9:05 a.m.: Welcome by Jeremy Callais, chair of ABA’s Community Bankers Council and president of Peoples Bank of East Tennessee

9:05 a.m. – 9:20 a.m.: Remarks from Rob Nichols, president and CEO, American Bankers Association

9:20 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.: Federal Reserve Governor Michelle Bowman delivers remarks, followed by a conversation with ABA Chair and President and CEO, Reading Cooperative Bank, Julieann Thurlow

10:00 a.m. – 10:40 a.m.: Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael Hsu will deliver remarks followed by a conversation with ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols.

This annual gathering of community bankers provides attendees with an opportunity to discuss important issues facing the nation’s smaller banks, as well as the chance to forge and grow valuable connections with peers across the industry.  The full conference program is available on the ABA website.
