Banks to Accept Entries for ABA Foundation’s Annual Lights, Camera, Save! Teen Video Contest

WASHINGTON —

Banks across the nation are now accepting entries for the American Bankers Association Foundation’s 13th annual Lights, Camera, Save! video contest. Lights, Camera, Save! is a national contest that encourages teens to use video to communicate the value of sound money management. This free competition is one of ABA Foundation’s most popular financial education initiatives.

Teen contestants are asked to create a 30-second or less video that highlights the importance of using money wisely and submit it to a local participating bank. The contest is open to young videographers of all experience levels. Participating banks across the country will be accepting Lights, Camera Save! entries through Dec.1. Registered banks will host the first round of judging and select a winning student to compete on the national level for several awards, including a grand prize of $5,000, $2,500 for the second-place winner and $1,000 for the third-place winner. National contestants will then go head-to-head on ABA’s Instagram page to determine which videos advance to the final round of national judging. Last year’s contest drew impressive submissions from across the country. [View the 2022 winning video]

“Lights, Camera, Save! gives teens an opportunity to channel their creativity for the greater good,” said Lindsay Torrico, executive director, ABA Foundation. “Every video and every view help educate the next generation on the importance of strong financial management. We look forward to seeing what this year’s contestants come up with.”

Students interested in entering the Lights, Camera Save! competition can learn more about the contest at lightscamerasave.com.

The ABA Foundation provides registered banks with all contest materials, real time customer support and promotional resources completely free of charge. Any bank interested in participating in the contest can still sign up online at aba.com/lightscamerasave. Registered banks will be featured on the list of participating banks on the ABA Foundation website and in press materials.

This year’s contest is generously sponsored by Plinqit, the first platform that brings together automated savings, data-driven financial wellness content and virtual account management.
