Teach Children to Save

While Teach Children to Save is a national ABA Program (Thank You ABA!) First Bank decided to go "all in" this year for Teach Children to Save and increase participation throughout the organization and communities served. First Bank, through its Corporate Citizenship program, called the Power of Good, decided that First Bank would expand the timeframe, running March 1 — May 31, 2023 and each school that permitted First Bank bankers to enter and teach their students would receive a donation to the school to be used as they would like. While the motivation was there for the schools to let First Bank come in, additionally, the motivation was there for First Bank bankers to make the calls and develop those relationships with local schools in order to get more financial education and donations for their communities. Additionally, each branch/department and banker that participated was entered in internal drawings for prizes. The results were astounding: 189 presentations made, 12,885 students taught and $172,000 donated to local schools and/or educational organizations.
