Family Financial Fun Night

Family Financial Fun Night is a financial literacy event designed to be held at area schools that encompass education for the entire family unit. Southside Bank launched this innovative event at Chapel Hill Independent School District on November 15, 2022. Students, their families, the school, and Southside Bank came together for the occasion. Family units of elementary students are invited to an evening of fun financial empowerment, pizza, and prizes. Families stay together throughout the event and move from station to station. They learn about needs and wants, budgeting, investing, and overall banking principles. A Southside Bank mentor and a teacher are teamed together to lead each station. They teach a lesson or lead a game at each elementary school student’s comprehension level and coincide similar information that is more directed towards adults and older siblings. Pizza is provided for dinner and students earn prizes based on the number of stations they complete. This is a fun event where the bankers genuinely connect with the families in their community, while also providing financial education.
