At Citizens, we are committed to helping close the opportunity gap and creating equitable pathways for success for students and workers through our community investments and colleague engagement focused on financial education and empowerment.

Our Citizens Helping Citizens Manage Money program connects the communities we serve with the resources, tools and tips needed to make well-informed financial decisions. A core piece of the program is our six-year partnership with Junior Achievement — a national organization dedicated to preparing young people for economic success.

Through funding and volunteer engagement we help deliver Junior Achievement's integrated learning models focused on career readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial education in the low to moderate income communities we serve. Since 2018, Citizens colleagues have helped deliver Junior Achievement financial education resources to over 30,000 students in low to moderate income communities across our footprint. In 2022, 188 Citizens volunteers delivered programming to 3,183 students in 31 areas.

We also partner with them on key projects that help scale their programs and broaden their reach and impact, such as our sponsorship of their annual Teens and Personal Finance Survey and a new five-year year thought leadership summit series that deepen our understanding of the financial education needs of our country's youth.

Together, we empower the next generation with the knowledge, capacity, and motivation to thrive; to build a better future for themselves and their community.
