Believe in Local

First Interstate Bank experienced a transformative year in 2022: we acquired Great Western Bank, which more than doubled our footprint. To celebrate this acquisition and reinforce our commitment to all the communities in which we live and work, we introduced the Believe in Local grant campaign in July 2022. Believe in Local awarded a total of $1 million through individual $25,000 grants to 40 impactful nonprofit organizations nominated by employees across the company.

The $1 million in grant funding was a specifically earmarked portion of a $21.5 million donation First Interstate Bank made to the First Interstate BancSystem Foundation to support our newly expanded footprint last year.

Building on the success of the first campaign, we launched our second Believe in Local campaign in May 2023, with another 40 nonprofits receiving $25,000 each to further their respective missions.

First Interstate is committed to supporting the places we call home and Believe in Local is a constructive way to express our appreciation for the invaluable services these nonprofits provide to our communities and our neighbors in need.
