Affinion Security Center (ASC), a leading provider of identity theft protection, detection and resolution services, participated in the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Privacy Academy 2009. The event, held in Boston, took place September 16 through 18, offering a wealth of programming around operational privacy and technology, as well as sessions focused on theoretical discussion and debate of today's most provocative privacy issues.
ASC Spokesman, Frank W. Abagnale Jr., inspiration for the hit movie Catch Me if You Can, discussed the ever-evolving nature of identity theft and the impact this crime has on consumers and institutions alike. During this dynamic session, Mr. Abagnale made recommendations on how companies can prepare themselves for data breaches. Attendees had the opportunity to engage Mr. Abagnale, one of the world's most respected authorities on identity theft, in a Q&A session moderated by Affinion Security Center's Data Breach Specialists.
